Researcher Position (with PhD) – Digital Health Innovation for ME/CFS
Project Overview
Join an interdisciplinary research team developing HELP-ME, a mobile health (m-Health) platform designed for patients with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS). The project aims to improve early diagnosis, stratification, and long-term management of ME/CFS via decision-making tools, AI-enhanced patient data analysis, and possile integration with national e-Health systems.
Role Description
We are seeking a motivated and versatile postdoctoral researcher to lead the development and validation of the digital health application and contribute to the scientific underpinnings of ME/CFS diagnostics. You will work closely with clinicians, bioinformaticians, and patient advocacy groups across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and validate patient-centered digital health tools, including questionnaires and functional assessments for ME/CFS.
- Contribute to data analysis (including AI/machine learning models for patient stratification - web/mobile app frameworks).
- Prepare research outputs: peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and reports for policy and funding bodies.
- Contribute to intellectual property strategy and the integration of the platform with national health systems.
Essential Qualifications
- PhD in one of the following fields: AI, digital health, clinical informatics, health data science, or related discipline.
- Proven experience in digital health projects, m-Health tools, or medical informatics.
- Strong analytical skills in handling clinical or patient-reported outcome data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with ME/CFS, fatigue-related disorders, or chronic disease management.
- Knowledge of AI/machine learning in health data analysis.
- Programming experience (e.g., Python, R, or web/mobile app frameworks).
- Experience in working with multi-stakeholder international consortia.
- Understanding of ethical, regulatory, and data privacy issues in health research.
