Network & IP Collaboration Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Network & IP Collaboration Engineer to design, implement, and maintain their network infrastructure, with a focus on voice, video conferencing, and collaboration solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco networking, IP-based communication systems, and enterprise-grade firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet). This role is crucial in ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performance collaboration across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Network & Collaboration Infrastructure

• Design and maintain Cisco-based LAN/WAN networks supporting IP collaboration (VoIP, video and unified communication platforms)
• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches (Catalyst/Nexus), and wireless access points.
• Implement Cisco QoS (Quality of Service) to prioritize voice/video traffic for optimal performance.
• Manage and monitor network performance for Cisco devices and collaboration platforms, ensuring optimal uptime and quality for video and voice services.

2. Voice & Video Conferencing Solutions

• Deploy and support Cisco Unified Communications (CUCM, CUC, CUBE, Expressway).
• Maintain Cisco VoIP and video platforms (WebEx, TelePresence).
• Integrate collaboration tools with third-party platforms (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom).
• Troubleshoot Cisco IP phones, endpoints, and conferencing systems.

3. Network Security for Collaboration Tools

• Implement and enforce security measures for voice, video, and collaboration platforms using Palo Alto Firewalls and Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls.
• Configure and monitor Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls to protect collaboration traffic, ensuring encrypted communications and protection from cyber threats.

4. Collaboration & Documentation

• Work with IT teams, vendors, and departments to support collaboration tools.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for network and collaboration-related issues.
• Maintain detailed documentation for Cisco configurations, collaboration setups, and security measures.

5. Monitoring & Reporting

• Utilize Cisco Prime Infrastructure, DNA Center, FortiManager for network monitoring.
• Use tools like Cisco NetFlow and SolarWinds to analyze collaboration performance.
• Generate reports on usage, performance, and incident resolutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience:

• 7 plus years in experience in network engineering and collaboration technologies, specifically in Cisco and security firewall environments (Palo Alto, Fortinet).
• Proven experience in designing, deploying, and troubleshooting Cisco-based VoIP solutions, video conferencing systems, and unified communications.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls in securing collaboration platforms and network infrastructure.
• Experience with integration of Cisco collaboration platforms with third-party tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom).
• Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco WebEx, and Cisco TelePresence systems.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of Cisco networking technologies and IP routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
• In-depth experience with Cisco QoS (Quality of Service) for VoIP and video prioritization.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco IP Phones, Cisco Video Conferencing Systems, and Collaboration Servers (CUCM, CUC, Cisco Expressway).
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls in protecting collaboration traffic and ensuring secure communications.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills for both network infrastructure and collaboration technologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and reporting.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Certifications:

• CCNA or CCNP (R&S or Collaboration).
• PCNSE or Fortinet NSE certifications.
• Cisco Collaboration Specialist certifications (preferred).
