About the Role
Our client, a rapidly growing SaaS company based in Exeter, is looking for a Lead PHP Developer / Technical Lead to join their development team. This role is a blend of technical leadership and hands-on development, with a primary focus on mentoring developers, managing projects, and ensuring high-quality software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of PHP developers, providing coaching and guidance.
- Oversee technical decisions, architecture, and best practices.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
- Collaborate with product, QA, and design teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Manage development timelines, resource allocation, and identify potential blockers.
- Drive improvements in processes, tooling, and system scalability.
- Support AWS deployments and cloud infrastructure management.
About You
- Strong PHP development background, with experience in frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or Yii.
- Proven leadership experience in a technical role, ideally within a SaaS environment.
- Experience with AWS, Docker, Git, and MySQL.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Node.js or other backend technologies.
- Familiarity with frontend frameworks like Vue.js or Angular.
- Exposure to Firebase or real-time services.
