Applications Specialist

Purpose: This position is responsible to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications to enhance business operations, improve efficiency & customer experience in a bus public transport, school services, and private taxi hire company.

Job Summary: The incumbent goal is to provide technical expertise to analyze, design, develop, test, and implement software applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives & technology strategies.

Main Responsibilities & Tasks

• Provide technical support for existing applications, resolving issues, improving performance, and ensuring scalability & reliability
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date application documentation, including user manuals, guides & technical specifications
• Assist in designing, developing, testing, and implementing new software applications to meet business requirements
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, develop test cases, and ensure solution fit
• Elicit business requirements through stakeholder engagement, analysis, and documentation
• Develop business cases, proposals, and technical specifications to support application development & implementation
• Integrate applications with existing systems, ensuring seamless data exchange and compatibility
• Configure applications to meet business requirements, ensuring optimal performance and user experience
• Develop and deliver training programs for end-users, ensuring effective adoption & utilization
• Maintain accurate and relevant user documentation, including guides, manuals & FAQs
• Job descriptions are written to reflect major accountabilities and will not describe all the tasks which may be performed by an individual. The incumbent shall perform any additional related duties assigned by the respective line manager to meet operational requirement
• The incumbent shall ensure the highest standards are followed to safeguard the sensitive and confidential data of the organization

Minimum Required Qualifications, Certificates & Skills

Qualifications (e.g., Education)

• At least Diploma or Certificate in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

Work Experience (e.g., Number of years and field / role)

• Minimum 7 year’s experience in software development, analysis, and implementation

Certificates & Trainings

Any relevant certification or training such as:

• Certified Associate in Software Engineering (CASE), Training in programming languages (e.g., Java, Python), Agile certification (e.g., Scrum Master)

Skills

• Programming languages (Java, Python), Software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), Data analysis and visualization
