Senior UX/UI Designer

Job Purpose

The Senior UX/UI Designer is responsible for creating and implementing designs that make human-computer interactions intuitive, accessible, adaptive, consistent, and relevant to the tasks performed. This role ensures that the design of systems satisfies the functionality required by users while considering the emotions these functionalities evoke.

Primary Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into interactive, visually creative solutions that deliver exceptional user experiences
• Incorporate market research and psychology to design human-computer interfaces for optimal effectiveness
• Create easily navigable content and deliver high-quality visual/information designs for maximum aesthetic appeal
• Participate in all phases of the software delivery lifecycle – discovery, design, development, and deployment
• Conduct market and user research, create journey maps, site maps, personas, wireframes, and high-fidelity interface designs
• Develop information architecture, validate assumptions through usability testing, and support front-end development
• Facilitate design thinking workshops to support the overall product UX roadmap and vision
• Leverage metrics, qualitative, and quantitative research to validate design decisions
• Effectively communicate findings to stakeholders and clients
• Participate in or lead client progress meetings by reporting results and making recommendations
• Communicate research, conceptual ideas, designs, and design rationale within a structured user-centered design process
• Successfully manage multiple concurrent UX/UI initiatives across multiple teams, delivering under tight timelines

Basic Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of relevant UX/UI design experience, interaction design, information architecture, or similar roles
• Expertise in industry-standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Invision, Adobe CS/CC, or Axure
• Experience designing responsive user experiences accessible on any device (desktop, tablet, mobile)
• Working knowledge of ADA accessibility standards
• Experience executing moderated and unmoderated user testing with a data-driven design approach
• Working knowledge of essential front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) and modern frameworks (Bootstrap, Material Design)
• Familiarity with agile/scrum methodologies

Other Requirements

• Experience working on B2B, B2B2C, and D2C platforms for web, enterprise applications, emergent technologies, consumer appliances, and mobile devices
• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills
• Proven ability to collaborate with product owners, UX peers, developers, business stakeholders, and marketing teams
• Strong storytelling abilities - verbally, visually, in writing, and behaviorally
• Natural problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple demands
• Comprehensive understanding of user-centered design methodologies, usability principles, and web-based information architecture
• Attention to detail and passion for best-in-class visual designs
• Ability to define patterns and advocate for consistency without inhibiting innovation
• Ability to work gracefully in fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Mobile Computing, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or related field
• UX Certifications (NNG, HFI, etc.) are a significant plus
• A strong portfolio demonstrating past work creating great user-centered design solutions
