Freelance Azure Cloud Engineer – On-Premise to Azure Cloud Migration

Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer with a specialized focus on Azure migration to join their team for a critical project in Brussels. As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and migration strategies, particularly transitioning from on-premise environments to Microsoft Azure. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies, collaborate with skilled platform engineering teams, and drive forward cloud adoption strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of on-premise infrastructure to Microsoft Azure, ensuring seamless integration with minimal disruption to business operations.
• Architect and implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, and ARM Templates.
• Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and management with Jenkins and Ansible.
• Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub and Bitbucket to support continuous deployment processes.
• Partner with Platform Engineering teams to implement and optimize microservices, Kubernetes, and cloud-native networking solutions.
• Integrate and configure observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) for continuous monitoring and reporting of cloud infrastructure health.
• Adhere to cloud best practices, leveraging frameworks such as the Cloud Adoption Framework and the Well-Architected Framework to ensure optimized cloud infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and optimize cloud environments to meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field, with relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert).
• Extensive experience leading and executing Azure cloud migration projects from on-premise to cloud environments.
• Expert-level proficiency in designing and deploying Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, Pulumi, and Ansible.
• Hands-on expertise in cloud automation, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps methodologies using Jenkins.
• A strong commitment to continuous learning and innovation in cloud technologies.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken; proficiency in French or Dutch is a plus.
