Due to continued growth, we are currently hiring a DevOps/Systems Engineer to join our client in Dublin. emagine is a high-end professional services consultancy and solutions firm specialising in providing business and technology services to clients in all sectors.

We are looking for strong Linux, containerization, and networking expertise, along with hands-on experience in Git and cybersecurity. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working at the intersection of infrastructure, automation, and security.

A snapshot of your key responsibilities:

  • Linux System Administration: Manage, configure, and optimize Linux-based systems across development and production environments.
  • Troubleshooting: Identifying issues, checking system logs, system resources, service processes, networking, permission and ownership, recovery migration.
  • Containerization: Design, deploy, and manage containerized applications using tools such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Networking: Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure including firewalls, VPNs, DNS, and load balancing.
  • Version Control: Use Git for version control, supporting CI/CD pipelines and collaborative development practices.
  • Cybersecurity: Implement and monitor security best practices, conduct vulnerability assessments, and assist in security incident response.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop automation scripts (e.g., Bash, Python) for system provisioning, configuration, and monitoring.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and IT teams to support reliable and secure infrastructure operations.

Requirements:

  • Strong Linux administration experience in a production environment.
  • Proficient in container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, protocols, and security principles.
  • Experience with Git for version control and integration into CI/CD workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity: patching, auditing, threat mitigation, and compliance.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) is a plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently or within a team.

Opportunity type: Contract (Initial 6 months), Hybrid in Dublin

Start date: ASAP
