Lead Engineer, APIs & Services

PlayStation Studios Mobile is seeking an experienced software engineer to build internal APIs and services supporting the development, publication, and operation of free-to-play mobile games; and to integrate these services with internal systems and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build backend services and APIs for mobile game development, publishing, and operations
  • Integrate these services with tools & systems maintained by teams across the organization
  • Establish CI/CD pipeline to facilitate the delivery of high-quality software
  • Manage the cloud infrastructure needed to deploy and scale services
  • Measure and improve service security, availability, throughput and cost efficiency
  • Clearly communicate API & service behaviors to end users and stakeholders
  • Influence and contribute to the mobile platform roadmap

Desired Skills And Experience

  • 8+ years of professional experience developing backend services handling high volumes of traffic
  • Expertise in software architecture, design, and testing of distributed services
  • Expertise in API design and security
  • Experience as a technical leader in a team setting
  • Experience packaging, deploying, and operating containerized services
  • Experience developing systems in compliance with global data privacy and security regulations
  • Experience in identity resolution for cross-platform mobile games
  • Experience managing scalable infrastructure with a major cloud provider (e.g., AWS)
  • Strong understanding of big data processing, message queuing, and distributed caches
  • Experience with Rust or Golang preferred
  • B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent
