We are seeking an experienced

Software Engineer (Machine Automation)

to join the Ponsse Group Technology and R&D team in Finland.

In this role you will be responsible for designing and implementing machine automation features for Ponsse forest machines, such as control of cranes, drive transmission, harvester head functions, data transmission, and setting management. The role involves using the C programming language and performing machine tests during early development phases. Documentation of developed features is an essential part of the work. In this role you should be capable of working with customers according to Ponsse values.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in automation, software engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience
• Design/programming skills, particularly in C/C#. Experience with model-based design (e.g., Matlab/Simulink) is considered as an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulically actuated systems, non-road mobile machinery, utilized sensors, embedded systems, and bus technologies (e.g., CAN).
• Familiarity with agile software development methodologies e.g. Scrum.
• Experience in simulation-based development and testing processes.
• Understanding of the software development life cycle process.
• Good communication skills in English and Finnish.
