DevOps Engineer

We are currently seeking an Azure Platform or DevOps Engineer to join our client’s team based in Basel. This is an initial 12-month contract with potential for extension.

In this role, you will collaborate with a team of experienced engineers and architects, focusing on the implementation, support, and maintenance of enterprise-grade cloud solutions. The primary emphasis will be on Azure Cloud technologies and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in a hybrid enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design and implementation of enterprise infrastructure solutions in the public cloud, leveraging SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS services.
• Contribute to automation and transformation projects across a broad technology stack, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Develop and deploy scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant cloud services using Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise, and Terraform.
• Drive automation by replacing manual processes with Infrastructure-as-Code solutions.
• Advise business units on cloud adoption best practices and assist with aligning solutions to internal security policies.
• Implement and maintain core Azure landing zone infrastructure components such as:
• Virtual networks, storage accounts, function apps
• DNS, VPN, Azure Firewall, etc.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing Azure infrastructure for enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in Infrastructure and Configuration as Code, particularly with Terraform and GitHub Actions.
• Experience enforcing cloud security through private endpoints and Azure Policies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (especially Git), and integrating these into infrastructure workflows.
• Proven knowledge of core Azure services: Networking, Azure VPN, Azure Firewall, and other IaaS and PaaS offerings.
• Solid understanding of identity and authentication protocols: Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Federation, OAuth, and OpenID.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take full ownership of deliverables.
