Digital Assets Specialist

About the area:

At CIB Partnerships, Innovation & Digital Assets, we are responsible for the following three functions:

1) Partnerships: focuses on identifying, structuring, and managing commercial or equity partnerships with financial institutions, financial sponsors, corporates, fintechs, and product providers. The objective is to expand product capabilities, enhance distribution channels, and unlock new revenue streams, fully aligned with CIB's long-term growth strategy.

2) Innovation: defines and executes the CIB Innovation Agenda in close collaboration with the various CIB business areas. This includes identifying and driving key transformational projects that proactively anticipate client needs and align with emerging business trends.

3) Digital Assets: develops new business opportunities where digital assets can deliver measurable impact, whether in terms of growth or efficiency, focusing on their strategic business value.

About the role:

• Collaborate in Corporate & Investment Banking innovation strategy, with focus on blockchain and crypto and with a cross-business perspective: from the transformation of current businesses, to a total disruption of new models in banking and beyond.
• Help execute and deliver innovation projects mainly around blockchain, in a multidisciplinary team, coordinating with CIB Business Areas, Engineering and Customer Solutions teams.
• Connect to the external ecosystem. Connect with external stakeholders: Financial Institutions, Corporates, fintechs and providers to find areas of complementary business
• Broaden the internal focus and create knowledge and expertise in CIB BBVA around innovation and blockchain.
• Collaborate with the other areas of the department when needed on:
• Building CIB Innovation and Partnerships agenda, together with CIB businesses.
• Focusing on business transformation initiatives, with particular focus on growth in clients and revenues across all geographies.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business or computer science.
• Strong understanding of new technologies, in particular Blockchain/Digital Assets/Tokenization/Crypto.
• At leats 3 years of experience in banking or financial institutions.
• Comprehensive understanding of financial markets and banking products.
• Exceptional analytical and strategic planning skills.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, embrace emerging trends, and drive innovation.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
