Network Engineer

A leading global quantitative proprietary trading firm is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join its Network Engineering team. This individual will play a critical role in supporting and evolving a high-performance, global network infrastructure. The position is best suited for a mid-to-senior level professional with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in trading or financial services environments.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, mission-critical setting and is open to participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation as part of a collaborative global team.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Solid foundation in Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts
• Proven experience with routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF
• Strong understanding of multicast technologies (IGMP, PIM) across Layers 2 and 3
• Comfortable with scripting and network automation
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP stack with the ability to troubleshoot beyond Layer 3
• Familiar with Quality of Service (QoS) configuration and implementation
• Experience working in data center environments
• Hands-on exposure to telecom circuit provisioning and working with telecom vendors
• Understanding of time synchronization protocols (GPS, NTP, PTP, PPS)
• Experience with low-latency Layer 1 switching platforms such as Arista 7130

Preferred Experience:

• Familiarity with EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS network designs
• Hands-on experience with firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto)
• Exposure to Cisco Unified Communications Manager
• Experience with open-source routing tools such as Bird or Quagga
• Comfortable with monitoring platforms like Grafana, Splunk, ELK, or Prometheus
• Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field preferred
• CCNP (Route/Switch) certification is a plus
