Backend Engineer

We're a fast-growing startup with big ambitions, funded and founded by experienced entrepreneurs, looking for someone to join our engineering team and drive the advancement of our tech stack and infrastructure. We are seeking a Backend Engineer with some knowledge of DevOps (or a willingness to learn) to join our talented team. You will play a crucial role in building and maintaining our backend infrastructure while contributing to product development, including launching new features and services from scratch.

What You’ll Do:

• Build from scratch: Contribute to the development of new features and products. Bring your ideas and those of your team to life by designing and implementing backend services that drive our platform forward.
• Architect & optimize: Help scale our architecture, including cloud-based services, REST APIs, and logging frameworks, ensuring high performance and reliability as we grow across multiple regions and workloads.
• DevOps integration: Be hands-on with our DevOps setup, streamlining deployments, monitoring systems, and optimizing infrastructure for reliability and efficiency using cloud-based tools and CI/CD workflows.
• Collaborate on technical roadmaps: Participate in designing the technical roadmap, working closely with the CTO and other engineers to shape the future of our product and backend ecosystem.
• Security and monitoring: Ensure our systems are secure and robust by integrating monitoring and security tools, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and implementing best practices for system reliability.

• Cloud platforms and deployment tools

• Database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redis)
• LLM providers
• Monitoring and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, CodeCov)

What We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of backend development experience with a focus on building scalable APIs and distributed systems (Python, Node.js, or Go preferred).
• Professional DevOps experience working with cloud infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar environments like AWS or Azure.
• Strong experience with API design and RESTful services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly with tools like GitHub Actions.
• Experience with database management (PostgreSQL or similar) and caching solutions (Redis).
• Bonus: experience with machine learning model deployment and integration with LLMs (Large Language Models).
