About This Role:
The Research Associate is part of Forrester’s Consumer & Digital Services research organization and works with a team of analysts to equip CX, B2C, and Digital leaders and business professionals in evolving their initiatives and strategy through primary research, technology and business analysis, actionable reports, and client advisory. Clients work with Forrester to inform and accelerate their strategic decisions, understand software market trends, and compare their strategy with industry best practices.
The Research Associate plays a key role supporting the team’s analysts to produce high-quality reports, presentations, and client advisory materials. The successful candidate will report to a research operations manager and will support analysts.
Job Description:
Research creation and delivery:
- Work with assigned analysts to formulate project plans and manage report schedules.
- Assist analysts with primary and secondary research and in developing a research topic. Daily tasks include but are not limited to desk research and coordination of research interviews, online surveys, and internal and third-party data.
- Support analyst presentations with well-formatted charts, appropriate callouts, meaningful titles, and a slide sequence that tells a story.
- Support the audit, identification, and update of any existing research required.
- Conduct quantitative work with Forrester’s datasets.
- Professionally partake in client calls, primarily in note-taking/support. This includes distilling complex information into the most relevant and actionable points.
- Help analysts by researching data, preparing draft materials, and shadowing delivery.
- Assist in collecting and analyzing team performance metrics through data dashboards.
- Maintain the systems of record for report publication and team repositories.
- Collaborate with other RAs as necessary to balance capacity and support delivery.
- A BA or BS degree; interest in statistics or quantitative work is a major plus.
- B2-level English proficiency or above.
- B2-level proficiency or above in at least one of the following languages: French, German, Italian, or Spanish.
- Varied undergraduate or postgraduate work experience, ideally in market or consumer research or marketing.
- The willingness to actively and intellectually engage with colleagues, including more senior colleagues such as analysts.
- Enthusiasm to learn about technology and its impact on business and society.
- Effective time and project management skills.
- A working knowledge of both word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Sharp attention to detail and resourcefulness, optimizing survey questions and formatted data outputs.
- A passion for learning about customer experience.
