I am working with an exciting consultancy based in Dubai who are looking for a Data Platform Engineer with strong cloud experience ideally AWS on a 1-year contract.

For this hire, I can only consider your profile if you have good commercial experience with Cloud, ideally AWS and have worked on both Data and Devops/Platform work extensively.

My client is prioritising candidates that are based in the UAE already, however, please feel free to apply if you are offshore. Please note that we CANNOT cover flights and accommodation, however, we WILL provide Visa and Health Insurance.

Position Overview:

The client is seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to join their cutting-edge technology team in the UAE. This role goes beyond design and development, you will be directly responsible for implementing, deploying, and operationalizing cloud infrastructure on AWS to support real-time AI workloads and enterprise-grade solutions.

You will lead the end-to-end implementation of robust, scalable, and secure cloud architectures that enable the client's data pipelines, machine learning platforms, and client-facing applications. Your work will ensure that our solutions move seamlessly from design into production, powering our mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• AWS Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available AWS infrastructure to support a range of applications and services, ensuring alignment with best practices.
• Automation: Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to automate the provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and management of AWS resources.
• Security and Compliance: Enforce and implement security best practices and compliance measures, including identity and access management, data protection, encryption, and vulnerability scanning
• Performance Optimization: Monitor, analyze, and actively implement improvements to system performance, ensuring reliability and operational efficiency across all deployed infrastructure
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Develop, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate and streamline the deployment process, enabling rapid and stable delivery of software and infrastructure updates
• Collaboration: Work closely with development, data, and operations teams to gather requirements, implement solutions, troubleshoot issues, and support full lifecycle deployment of AI and analytics workloads
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive, implementation-focused documentation for system architecture, deployment processes, workflows, and configuration standards to support operational transparency and onboarding

Skills Needed

• Proven experience as an AWS Platform Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong background in implementing and managing cloud infrastructure and services in production environments.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, IAM, VPC, and others, supported by relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
• Practical experience implementing and managing containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, with an understanding of microservices architecture and orchestration
• Demonstrated ability to implement and support DevOps practices and tooling, including CI/CD systems and monitoring platforms such as Jenkins, Git, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of translating design into implementation in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
