Job Objective:
The Microsoft Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing both cloud and on-premises infrastructure to ensure seamless operations, security, and scalability. This role leverages Microsoft Azure technologies to deliver innovative and integrated solutions that align with the organization's strategic objectives, while ensuring robust business continuity, automation, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cloud Infrastructure Design & Management
- Design and implement cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure services.
- Deploy and manage Azure resources including Virtual Machines, AKS, Azure AD, Azure DevOps, Exchange 365, and more.
- Develop and execute cloud migration strategies and hybrid cloud integrations.
2. Security & Compliance
- Implement Azure Governance (Azure Policy, RBAC, Management Groups).
- Enforce security measures via Azure Defender, Sentinel, and Zero Trust frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
3. Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Design and manage DR solutions using Azure Backup and Site Recovery.
- Develop and maintain incident response and continuity plans.
4. Automation & Optimization
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep.
- Automate processes with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Power Automate.
- Monitor systems using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
5. Networking
- Configure and manage Azure VNets, ExpressRoute, Load Balancers, and VPN Gateways.
- Ensure secure and efficient connectivity between cloud and on-premises systems.
6. DevOps & CI/CD
- Work with DevOps teams using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
- Support containerized applications through Kubernetes integration.
7. AI & Big Data Integration
- Utilize Azure AI and Synapse Analytics to implement data-driven solutions.
- Develop serverless architectures using Azure Functions and App Services.
8. Monitoring & Cost Optimization
- Monitor Azure usage and spending to ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
- Implement best practices in cost governance and optimization.
9. On-Premises Infrastructure Management
- Manage legacy systems including Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, and security appliances.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Azure Administrator Associate
- Azure Security Engineer Associate
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Azure infrastructure, networking, and cloud services.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep).
- Strong understanding of cloud security, identity management, and governance.
- Experience with DevOps tools, automation, and container orchestration.
- Solid grasp of Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and hybrid cloud integration.
Soft Skills
