Role Purpose

To lead the development of Omantel’s corporate strategy, providing expert analysis on strategic opportunities and challenges. The role ensures alignment with strategy execution and performance management functions to achieve strategic goals.

Position Information

  • Minimum role requirements:

Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; Master’s degree is a plus.

  • Professional certificates in the domain is highly preferred.

Experience

  • External Applicants : 8 years of total experience & at least 3 years in a managerial position

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead internal and external strategic analyses, identifying scenarios, evaluating options, and developing recommendations for the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Coordinate inputs from various sectors and subsidiaries for strategic assessments.
  • Organize and facilitate strategic workshops to align stakeholders and gather insights.
  • Develop and continuously update the corporate strategy and long-term goals.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Innovation & Development to cascade the corporate strategy throughout the organization.
  • Support and challenge the development of annual operating plans, KPIs, and strategic enablers across business units.
  • Consolidate and present annual strategy execution plans for CEO/BoD approval.
  • Assist Consumer, Business, Wholesale, and Finance planning teams in performance evaluation against strategic goals.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews (“deep dives”) on priority strategic topics.
  • Define and structure select strategic initiatives for long-term corporate positioning.
  • Create long-term capability-building plans to support execution of strategic goals.
  • Monitor and report on early warning signals related to market opportunities or risks.
  • Support ideation and strategic assessment of partnerships and investment opportunities.
  • Leverage data analytics tools to inform strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities.
  • Lead change management initiatives to ensure successful implementation of strategic plans across the organization.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on Omantel's strategic direction.
