Bol.com is changing retail to make daily life simpler for 13 million Dutch and Belgian customers. We are joined on this mission by 52,000 partner sellers that do business on our retail tech platform. This represents a combined assortment of approximately 42 million products. And each of these products needs to be onboarded quickly, efficiently and flawlessly into the product catalog. A complex endeavor because product information comes in many shapes and sizes. So how do we rationalize and automate that process?

What you do as Data Scientist in Traffic Management?

Team Value Steering is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to help us unlock valuable insights for various projects.

Currently we are working on an exciting new project: Value steering. For this project we are in an exploration phase to steer PBM towards both GMV and profit.

The new Data Scientist in the team would continue these explorations to create insights/rules/models that we can use in production, with a huge potential impact on the efficiency of our marketing budget.

Why you can make the difference

To be successful as a Data Scientist in the Traffic Product, you obviously need the right credentials, such as a background in Data Science (AI or equivalent) and at least 3 years of relevant work experience. This ideally comprises a mix of Machine Learning / Deep Learning, A/B testing experience and NLP / Information Retrieval techniques. We also expect a proven ability to program in Python and write queries in SQL and BigQuery . Bonus points are awarded for Data engineering experience (ETL and Airflow), Cloud solutions and Google’s AI platform experience. On a more personal level, we highly value a strong drive to help people with wildly diverging backgrounds and skill sets to understand your models, as well as strong social skills. Moreover, the team loves to share, both ‘internally’ and with the broader Data Science community. If you share that mentality, great!

In this role, you work closely with our Product Managerand Software Engineers with a focus on ML solutions.
