Network/DevOps Engineer

Countries, cities, and transport operators rely on our ground transportation solutions to adapt to rapid urbanization and meet new mobility demands – locally, between cities and across national frontiers. Our expertise in signaling, communications, fare collection, and cybersecurity provides people and goods the connected journey necessary for safe and efficient movement.

We are currently delivering the signaling system SignAn and developing the next generation Traffic Management System (TMS). To strengthen our Engineering Team for the TMS project, we are seeking a Network/DevOps Engineer. The successful candidate will play a key role in solving complex technical issues, contributing expertise in ongoing projects, designing, deploying, and providing level 2 support for infrastructure and solutions while ensuring best practices within TMS and national signaling systems.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and document new network and back-end features for the TMS project (e.g., Network separation, Network access control).
  • Implement and document network configurations for existing and new private cloud systems.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain the network in operations, training, and test environments.
  • Contribute to the DevOps team for the TMS project.
  • Coordinate with the Operation and Maintenance (OAM) team during changes in live environments.
  • Lead one or more topics, addressing them end-to-end.
  • Build expertise in network architecture and features for the TMS project.

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant technical education at University level, preferably BSc or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in IP network design, network architecture, and operation.
  • Strong knowledge in network firewall configuration and operation.
  • Strong knowledge in network switches configuration and operation.
  • Expertise in network security.
  • Competence within Agile Scrum methodology.
  • Autonomous and self-driven, with the ability to work well in a small team.
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken.

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of Barracuda firewall (F600) and Barracuda Control Center operation.
  • Knowledge of Alcatel OmniSwitch operation.
  • Technical knowledge in bash scripting, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • IT security knowledge.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of ElasticSearch and Grafana.
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence/Wiki.
  • Networking background.
  • Experience in Java development.
  • Experience within the railway sector, preferably with ERTMS and TMS.

Other Details:

This role starts ASAP. The work location is in Oslo, and the contract duration is for 1 year with possible extensions. The application deadline is May 22.
