SENIOR AI/ML ENGINEER, LEGAL FIRM, STARTING FROM $170,000 - $240,000 per annum plus SUPER, HYBRID, VICTORIA / NEW SOUTH WALES

SENIOR AI/ML ENGINEER – PYTHON / JAVA / TENSORFLOW / PYTORCH / 5+ YEARS COMMERCIAL EXPERIENCE / VIC / NSW

• Experience developing AI and automation tools from scratch is essential
• Working knowledge of machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch is needed
• Legal tech experience is a bonus but not required
• Salary is negotiable based on experience, starting from $170k – $240k + Super
• Hybrid role, ideally located in VIC or NSW with 2 days onsite

WHO ARE WE?

We’re partnering exclusively with an established legal firm. Based across multiple states, the firm is looking to overhaul and automate its internal legal processes - including document management, contract analysis, and client workflows - using AI and custom-built solutions.

With a vision to reduce manual dependencies and improve operational efficiency, they’re now hiring a hands-on AI/ML Engineer to lead this transformation from the ground up.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

You’ll be responsible for designing and deploying AI and automation solutions that modernise internal legal systems and streamline core operations.

Working closely with the firm’s leadership (non-technical), you’ll scope requirements, propose technical solutions, and take ownership of delivery. This is a highly autonomous role where you’ll have the freedom to shape both the tools and approach.

WE NEED YOU TO HAVE…..

• 5+ years’ commercial experience delivering AI/ML or automation projects
• Strong coding experience with Python or Java
• Hands-on with frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.
• Ability to scope, build, and implement tools based on business needs
• Comfortable working solo or leading small-scale projects
• Based in VIC or NSW with ability to work onsite 2 days per week

IT’S NICE TO HAVE…..

• Experience working with legal tech or within a legal firm
• Knowledge of data privacy or compliance requirements
• Familiarity with document automation or contract analysis tools
