Mobile Tech Lead – Android & iOS

About the Role

We are looking for a Mobile Tech Lead to join our growing team in Coimbra or Braga. In this role, you will provide technical leadership across Android and iOS platforms, guide a talented team of developers, and shape the future of our mobile applications. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable, high-performing, and secure mobile solutions that delight our users.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to mobile development teams (Android & iOS).
• Define and drive the technical vision for mobile architecture aligned with business objectives.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust mobile applications.
• Lead the implementation of complex features and functionalities on mobile platforms.
• Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and maintainability through reviews, testing, and monitoring.
• Implement robust mobile security principles and practices.
• Develop and enforce comprehensive automated testing strategies (unit, integration, end-to-end, a11y) using tools like Playwright.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver exceptional mobile experiences.
• Mentor and coach engineers, promoting a culture of innovation, quality, and accountability.
• Provide accurate estimations for development tasks, even in uncertain or complex contexts.
• Use data-driven approaches to measure application performance and inform development decisions.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in mobile development.
• Continuously improve development practices, tools, and processes within the team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in building and maintaining Android and iOS applications.
• Strong expertise in mobile architecture patterns and best practices.
• Solid understanding of mobile application security principles.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools, especially Playwright.
• Strong perspective on software development best practices, with openness to new ideas and approaches.
• Experience working on and leading large-scale applications within collaborative development environments.
• Previous experience leading or owning the development of large-scale mobile projects.

Nice to Have

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps.
• Familiarity with performance and crash monitoring tools (e.g., Firebase, Sentry, etc.).
• Contributions to open-source mobile projects or technical blogs.
