Job Title: Azure Cloud Engineer

Location: Zurich, Switzerland

Workload: 100% (4 days onsite)

Duration: Until end of 2025 (extension likely)

 

Overview:

Join a small team supporting and engineering Microsoft Azure cloud solutions for a finance data & analytics environment. Your work will span from writing and testing Terraform, managing Kubernetes clusters, enhancing observability, to troubleshooting performance issues in Databricks.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Enable staging environments for business testing

• Manage a third-party SaaS application (e.g., upgrades, monitoring)

• Oversee Kubernetes cluster and Azure subscription (security, alerts)

• Participate in architectural discussions to ensure secure, scalable cloud solutions

• Collaborate with development teams to implement infrastructure as code

• Maintain accurate and concise documentation

• Research and prototype new technologies

• Drive continuous improvement (automation, observability, technical debt reduction)

• Provide third-level support during critical periods

 

Team Environment:

You’ll be part of a cloud engineering team focused on transitioning finance systems to Azure. The team emphasizes infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and knowledge sharing. You’ll work with tools like Databricks, Power BI, Azure Data Factory, and Azure DevOps.

 

Essential Skills:

• Microsoft Azure

• Terraform

• Software engineering background (Python, Java)

• Requirements:

• Degree in applied science, engineering, or computer science (or equivalent experience)

• Strong communication skills in English

• Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills

• Solid understanding of networking, compute, and cloud security

• Experience with RDBMS and scripting (PowerShell or Bash)

• Proficiency with Git

• Python fluency is a plus
