Job Description

As the Deputy Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Project Manager in overseeing technical and administrative tasks for the project, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
  • Maintain close coordination with the client, being present at the client's office for 50% of the project time to facilitate effective communication and swift issue resolution
  • Support the development and maintenance of project plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders
  • Assist in managing project resources, including personnel allocation and equipment utilisation
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and timelines
  • Facilitate team meetings and foster a collaborative work environment
  • Support the Project Manager in stakeholder management, ensuring clear communication of project goals and expectations
  • Assist in contract management and vendor coordination
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the project management framework
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies throughout the project lifecycle


Qualifications

The successful candidate for the Deputy Project Manager position must possess the following critical qualifications:

  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 15 years of extensive, demonstrable experience in project management is absolutely essential. This substantial experience is crucial for effectively supporting the Project Manager in complex, high-stakes projects.
  • Technical Expertise: A strong, in-depth technical background in public transportation is non-negotiable. The candidate must possess a comprehensive understanding of public transportation systems, infrastructure, and operations to ensure project success.
  • Strategic Planning: A solid background in transportation planning is imperative. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing strategic transportation plans that align with organizational goals and public needs.
  • Advanced Education: A Master's degree in Transportation Engineering is mandatory. This advanced qualification ensures the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and analytical skills to tackle complex transportation challenges and drive innovation in project execution.
