Your role would be to develop Android applications using the Android SDK and Kotlin, following best practices and using standard development tools.
We are currently looking for engineers to join us on the following project:
Garmin Xero Outdoor: is our sportsman and tactical division, we are working with devices such as chronographs, auto-ranging bow sights, crossbow scopes and trapshooting trainers. Our mobile apps: connect to the device and exchange data with it; allow users to track, score and analyze their data; help users improve their game; show detailed statistics and have other various features depending on the device flavor.
We believe that collaboration leads to the best ideas, and we rely heavily on team interaction. As a hybrid role based in Cluj-Napoca, this position will require at least 3 days in the office each week.
Responsibilities:
- Create and execute designs for software components within a larger project
- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced Software Engineers
- Collaborate and add value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions
- Estimate the level of effort, evaluate new options of similar technology, offer suggestions to improve processes
- Perform technical root cause analysis and outline corrective action for given problems
- Strong Kotlin and Android SDK knowledge
- Experience with Jetpack Compose
- BSc in Computer Science, IT or similar
- 5 years of experience with Android development
- Proficiency in English
