PHP Developer

Job Title: PHP Developer 

Location: Cincinnati, OH (Hybrid Role)

Duration: 6+ months Contract 

PHP Developer for a 6+ months contract engagement to conduct a detailed review of an existing application’s codebase. The ideal candidate will possess strong PHP development experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage directly with business users to evaluate the application’s structure, functionality, and alignment with broader technical objectives.

This is a hybrid role and candidates need to be local to Cincinnati. Candidates need to have very good interpersonal/consultative skills along with the ability to work well independently. The engagement duration is expected to be 6+ months, with potential for extension based on project needs and capability alignment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and assess the quality, structure, and functionality of existing PHP code.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand application goals, workflows, and performance expectations.

• Provide technical insights and recommendations regarding potential enhancements or realignment needs.

• Participate in discussions around project scope and technical capabilities to determine engagement feasibility.

• Communicate findings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on PHP development experience, including experience reviewing and debugging legacy code.

• Strong knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.

• Demonstrated experience working in a client-facing role with direct business user interaction.

• Ability to analyze application design and recommend solutions or improvements.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with PHP frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter).

• Familiarity with API integrations and modern application architectures.

• Prior experience in consulting or contract-based engagements
