Junior Data Scientist (Gen AI)

We are hiring an Associate (Junior-mid level) Data Scientist to work in financial services, amongst a high quality, small data science team. This role is based in Sydney CBD (3 days office, 2 days WFH) and will see you work on a range of Gen AI / LLM solutions supporting different functions across the business (marketing, finance, operations, etc.). While the data team is around 15-20 people, the broader company has large scale and operates in several markets (UK & America).

Experience and skills required:

• Minimum of 2 years in a professional data science role (sorry, this is not a graduate hire)
• 6 months - 1 year working with Generative AI / LLMs, such as projects building RAG or Agentic systems using industry standard tools such as OpenAI/Claude/Llama/Langchain
• Good skills using Python, SQL and common data science and machine learning libraries
• Good communication skills, including working with non-technical stakeholders
• Advantageous: If you have used Databricks, Microsoft Azure or had involvement in deployment / productionisation of AI or ML solutions
