What is the purpose of this role?
Role
D&A Data Scientist role is focused on providing analytical insight to support strategic and operational decision-making for ESAN Markets. The analysis is targeted on Topline Forecasting, providing insights and impact analysis around:
- Markets Growth/Decline Drivers
- Analyzing historical trends of Sales considering qualitative insights to do Forecasting.
- Marketing promotions: pre/post evaluation
- Key launches and business programs: pre/post evaluation and tracking
- Product, Customer Analytics as well as Buyer & Behavior Segmentation
- Portfolio changes and product forecasting
- Play a sparring business partner role for Chief Digital, Sales Director & Marketing Officer of the region for all analytical topics.
- Collaborate with various functional and project stakeholders to design and plan Go-to-market initiatives. Present the key trends and performance insights at regular Marketing team meetings.
- Keep a tight communication and provide the needed support to other D&A local and global teams as well as to FP&A Analysts community to share knowledge and ensure the highest possible alignment concerning focus initiatives, D&A platform, applications, and methodologies.
- Marketing Promotions – key launches and business programs – performance analysis & insights.
- Develop and implement cutting-edge forecasting models to predict future trends, demand, and market/customer behavior customer behaviors based on transactional data.
- Conduct in-depth advanced analytics, utilizing statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to extract actionable insights from complex datasets.
- Lead product analytics initiatives, analyzing user behavior, product performance, and identifying opportunities for enhancement and optimization.
- Design, construct, and refine buying segmentation and behavioral segmentation models to support targeted marketing and product strategies.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis on the impact of launches and promotions, providing actionable insights to optimize future initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams to translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations and strategic business decisions.
- Take part in Global D&A community meetings around Digital/Marketing as a representative of the ESAN region.
Education & Experience:
- Academic degree in Mathematics, Computer science, Statistics, or comparable professional experience
- 4 years in Business Intelligence/Data Analytics
- Database management and dashboards ( Tableau / Alteryx, SQL)
- Strong expertise in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques is a must.
- Demonstrated experience in forecasting methodologies including time series analysis.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or R, and SQL.
- Excellent Skills in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proven experience (3 years) as a Data Scientist.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python/R and experience with relevant libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, etc.).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like GCP
- Expertise in building and implementing segmentation strategies based on consumer behavior and preferences.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker Studio, etc.) to present insights effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Critical thinking – Ability to objectively analyze and challenge the status quo of data, identifying biases, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement.
- Intellectual Agility – solid analytical and verbal reasoning ability.
- Comfortable with ambiguity – ability to adapt to complex situations, to focus & prioritize
- Savvy Communicator – effective communication skills, proactive transparent messaging to senior leadership.
- Fluent in English
