Senior Backend Engineer

About The Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer you’ll work within our Training Platform team. With the aim of enhancing customer experience, our training platform is undergoing a significant transformation phase to integrate into the broader SafetyCulture platform by migrating the SC Training services into the SafetyCulture platform infrastructure.

In This Role You Can Expect To

• Work on a major re-platform project migrating a legacy app to SafetyCulture's infrastructure
• Introduce Kafka capabilities to the SafetyCulture Training platform while working to enhance the performance and scalability of the product
• Mentor colleagues and use your technical experience to help lead the team on technical decisions
• Own the delivery of complex features, breaking down requirements and estimating the effort required for successful delivery
• Work in a hybrid working environment including at our HQ based in Surry Hills, Sydney

You may be a great fit for this role if you have some of the following:

• Depth of knowledge in C# / .Net languages and SOLID Principles
• Past re-platforming project work experience (infra migrations from a monolith to microservice)
• Previous experience working in fast-paced working environments in increasing senior roles, particularly for SaaS companies
• Ability to leverage technical knowledge into leadership experience within an engineering team
• Knowledge and working experience with database and cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc)
• Experience with infrastructure technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, Service Mesh, Terraform)
