The project is an interesting, knotty and future-focused AR/XR research project building out tangible, functioning prototypes that can help inform next generation XR product development. It’s exploratory rather than production-focused, and we want these prototypes to help us learn through making.
Skillsets:
● Experience working with LLMs and prompt engineering a plus
● Experience in Unity (C#, Python or Java)
● Experience developing with Quest; prior knowledge of the Unity Oculus Integration SDK would be useful
● Experience with networking
● Experience with optimisation for mobile and VR platforms
● Strong communication skills; comfortable with iterative process
Required:
● Minimum of 5 years in Prototyping or Game Development, with proven development, collaboration and leadership skills in cross-functional environments.
● AI/ML Research Experience: At least 2 years of research experience in AI/ML Prototyping.
● Technical Knowledge and Programming Expertise: Familiarity with large language models, deep learning, and neural networks.
● Proficiency with C# and comfortable working in other languages such as Python, shellscript
● Rapid Prototyping: Experience in building prototypes within short time frames.
● Technology Understanding: Practical knowledge of current technologies used to build rich experiences in responsive web and native mobile large enterprise apps.
● Communication Skills: Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas.
● Engineering Competence: Broad engineering competence and in-depth technical knowledge of comprehensive software systems, along with demonstrated experience in successfully planning, organizing, and conducting software development projects in a dynamic or startup environment.
● Adaptability: Thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments, demonstrating a growth mindset and the ability to learn new languages and technologies as needed.
Responsibilities:
● Innovation and Prototyping: Explore and create prototypes that shape the future of XR and AI interactions.
● Collaboration: Work closely with interaction designers, scientists, product managers, engineers, and researchers to bring great experiences from concept to implementation.
● User Research: Collaborate with user research and design teams to test, iterate on prototypes, and conduct experiments based on research questions.
● Technology Awareness: Stay informed about the latest advancements in machine learning, NLP, and related technologies.
● Research Advocacy: Contribute to research growth across teams by sharing research trends and best practices within the community.
● Communication: Clearly explain prototyping decisions to a diverse group of internal stakeholders.
● Process Development: Assist in establishing prototyping processes to align cross-functional teams.
● Feedback and Improvement: Actively give and seek feedback to enhance the quality and craftsmanship of the product.
● Documentation: handover materials for knowledge transfer, across written guides, wikis and repositories.
