Head of Information Technology

Role Overview:

The Head of IT at Syntys is responsible for leading the IT function across HQ and data center operations in multiple MENA markets. The role ensures the secure, reliable, and efficient operation of all IT infrastructure, enterprise applications (including ERP), and digital platforms that enable the delivery of high-performance data center services. Reporting to the COO, this role is critical in supporting business continuity, operational resilience, and scalable growth.

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead the IT vision and implementation plans across the following domains: IT & Network Applications, IT Enterprise Applications (ERP, HRIS, CRM, etc.), Digital Workplace & Office Automation, Centralized Digital Platforms, Cybersecurity Frameworks and Protocols
• Design and drive the execution of Information Technology roadmaps, architectures, and engineering practices in alignment with Syntys’ operational and growth strategy.
• Ensure high-performance service delivery and business continuity across all technology environments (including DCIM, BMS, EMS integration).
• Support DCCOs in resolving IT-related issues under a defined escalation and support framework.
• Participate as a technical expert in reviewing DCCOs’ strategic plans and budgets and contribute to their development when required.
• Closely collaborate with the Operations leadership team to align IT with network architecture, engineering, and capital investment priorities.
• Provide technical expertise in services, planning, performance, and transformation initiatives.
• Transfer best-practice planning, design, and delivery techniques to DCCOs and ensure knowledge sharing across markets.
• Build and lead a high-performing internal IT team and mentor staff to embed operational excellence and innovation.
• Oversee the deployment, integration, and optimization of enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, HRIS, Procurement systems) to support scalable business functions.
• Partner with internal stakeholders (Finance, HR, Legal, PMO) to deliver system capabilities that enhance productivity and data-driven decision-making.
• Drive digital workplace strategies, centralized platforms, and automation tools that improve collaboration and operational efficiency.
• Lead the development and enforcement of cybersecurity policies, risk management frameworks, and incident response plans.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, data protection regulations, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001).
• Collaborate with the Compliance, Risk, and Internal Audit functions to monitor and address IT-related risk.
• Develop strategic relationships with key IT vendors, service providers, and technology partners.
• Oversee IT sourcing strategies, vendor performance, and contract management.
• Manage the IT budget and ensure cost-effective planning and execution of technology initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Hands on Experience in Telecom IT, Cloud Technologies, and Integration platforms.
• International experience, preferably in the MENA region.
• Fluent in English, Arabic language capability preferred.
• At least 10 years total experience.
• Experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
• Vast experience with Information Technology, including current state-of-the-art solutions and industry trends
• High level of awareness regarding changes in technology standards and their repercussions
• Experience in developing and implementing IT strategies
• Experience in managing senior technical teams / team members.
• Knowledge and experience in systems integration techniques, system engineering, systems management, and KPI reporting
• Strong understanding of technology trends, best practices, and management of technology innovation operations
• Ability to explain key aspects of technology innovation, information systems, and networks to lay people
