Role Purpose

Supports and leads audits to assess IT security, privacy compliance, and governance. The role advises on and executes the technology audit plan, ensuring alignment with Omantel’s business objectives and a strong focus on cybersecurity and data protection.

  • Minimum role requirements:
  • Qualification: Bachelor in relevant field, preferably in in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Profissinol certification such as, CISA \ CISSP \ CEH \CIPM \ CIPP \CISM .
  • Experience:
    • Senior Proficient: 8 years of experience
Key Accountabilities

  • To contribute in conducting and leading audit assignment as per the annual internal audit plan, specifically for the Technology Audits vertical incorporating best practices of cybersecurity and data protection.
  • Assess the design and effectiveness of security controls such as access management, encryption, vulnerability management, incident response, and security monitoring.
  • Evaluate data privacy governance and controls over personal or sensitive information across Omantel systems and processes
  • Provide security advises on security best practices whenever is requested for different projects and system implementations, migrations, or major changes.
  • Conduct and contribute to audit reviews considering major risks considering emerging technology threats (Cloud security, AI governance).
  • Assess the control effectiveness and provide actionable remediation recommendations
  • Assess the alignment of aligns with regulatory requirements and best practices in cybersecurity and data protection.
  • Support the in follow-up reviews on Internal Audit findings and submit follow-up reports to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist the SM in providing Advisory services as requested by Management related to Technology Audits.
  • To provide technical guidance to the audit team, enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of audit execution, with a focus on security and privacy controls.
  • Develop Audit reports and participate in attending the closing meetings with the relevant parties to discuss the findings raised, proposed recommendations and obtain management responses to determine the corrective action plans.
  • Lead and execute audit engagements as per approved audit plan and other ad hoc request received through the line Manager.
  • Provide recommendations to improve existing processes and controls to meet cybersecurity and data privacy standards and mitigate risk.
