The Role

Reporting to the Head of Front‑End Engineering, you’ll join a cross‑functional squad of designers, product owners, and back‑end engineers to build performant, secure, and accessible web applications for a portfolio of tier‑one clients. You’ll own front‑end architecture decisions, champion best practice, and mentor mid‑level developers while remaining hands‑on with code.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement responsive user interfaces with TypeScript, React, and CSS‑in‑JS.
• Ensure rock‑solid automated testing using Mocha, Jest, and Vitest.
• Build and bundle apps with Gulp and Rollup; manage dependencies with NodeJS & NPM.
• Drive GitOps‑style CI/CD workflows (GitHub/GitLab) for rapid, reliable releases.
• Optimise performance, accessibility, and security across enterprise‑grade front‑end architectures.
• Guide and up‑skill junior engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
• (Nice‑to‑have) Experiment with WebGL, WebAudio, or Rust + WebAssembly to push product innovation.

Ideal Candidate

• 4 to 7 + years’ commercial front‑end experience delivering large‑scale web applications.
• Deep expertise in React + TypeScript backed by a strong grasp of CSS‑in‑JS patterns.
• Proven track record setting up and maintaining Mocha/Jest/Vitest test suites.
• Hands‑on experience with Gulp, Rollup, NodeJS, NPM, and GitOps pipelines.
• Passion for elegant UI, performance tuning, and engineering excellence.
• Clear communicator who can translate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Mandarin fluency is advantageous but not essential.
