Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with passion for analytics. As a Data Engineer at IKEA Industry, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure to support business intelligence, analytics, and decision-making processes.

As a Data Engineer you will: 

  • Transform data into an analysable format (ETL/ELT) to deliver business benefits.
  • Manage data integration, processing, and modelling.
  • Implement and optimize data models to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of information.
  • Implement data governance policies to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal standards.
  • Document and make the operational know-how of the data infrastructure and engineering solutions work available for the IKEA Industry and Inter IKEA ecosystems and ensure awareness around available data.
  • Leverage best practices in continuous integration and delivery.
  • Ensure cost consciousness and scalable, maintainable solutions.
  • Work closely with data & analytics professionals in our local teams, and act as a central support of data engineering within IKEA Industry.

In this role you will report to our Data & Analytics Manager at IKEA Industry.

Qualifications

We believe that our new data engineering colleague should have extensive experience in designing data pipelines, dataflows, lakehouse, data warehousing, data modelling, and database design, as well as strong knowledge of Python, SQL, PySpark and Git. Have you previously worked within manufacturing, for example leveraged data from modern MES to create measurable business value? Even better!

We are looking for a new colleague who:

  • Is experienced and knowledgeable in setting up data pipelines, data warehousing, data modelling, and database design.
  • Have strong knowledge of Python, SQL, PySpark, and Git.
  • Is skilled in working in complex organisation, with excellent stakeholder management abilities
  • Is a team player who take ownership, build relationships cross organizations, and enjoy mentoring and supporting others
  • Is a curious problem solver with a growth mindset
  • Have been working in a scrum setup and have experience with Jira & Confluence
  • Thrives by working in the forefront of data engineering, with modern tools and platforms like Microsoft Fabric and Databricks, creating business value from data.
  • Is DP-700 certified (not mandatory but a strong positive) or Databricks Data Engineer
