We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist to assist the dedicated data and analytics unit with advanced statistical knowledge.
Your Role:
- Develop and maintain an understanding and a sound base knowledge of life & health insurance and reinsurance and the technical requirements for appropriate data management.
- Automation of data extraction, developing data pipelines and data warehouse designs
- Understanding advanced analytics and identifying potential business cases for its applications
- Application of statistical and machine learning (supervised and unsupervised) methods
- Interpretation of model outcomes in a business context and advanced data visualizations
- Work with structured databases containing data from multiple sources, at various granular levels, to deliver good-quality analytics and visualization projects
- Provide underlying technical support to the actuarial team in monthly reserving data preparation, and consolidations.
- Enhance internal and external stakeholder understanding of data-related issues through effective communication.
- Proactively commit to stakeholders on both quality and timelines for delivery of new or modified tools.
- Run effective data management and extraction workshops as required.
- Be the key link between MRUA and its internal and external data platforms/partners to ensure proper knowledge of provided data structure. This will be particularly important for new platforms and during data format changes.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the full suite of internal and external data systems and structures.
- Develop and maintain knowledge about required relational database tools, e.g. SQL, to extract and analyse data effectively and efficiently.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, and/ or a comparable degree with a sound IT and mathematical background
- A master’s degree in one of the mentioned subjects would be an advantage
- 1-3 years of experience as a working student or a data analyst preferably within the insurance/reinsurance/actuarial field.
