OVERVIEW
We are looking for a skilled and curious PHP Developer to join our team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on dissecting complex systems and building solutions that drive value. You'll contribute to a dynamic, iterative workflow and work closely with other developers to maintain and expand our suite of customer-facing and internal tools. If you are passionate about Laravel, writing testable code, and working collaboratively, this is the role for you.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop and maintain user-facing web applications and internal dashboards using PHP and Laravel.
· Analyze and improve complex, existing codebases to enhance performance and maintainability.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and DevOps to deliver high-quality features.
· Write clean, testable, and efficient code using best practices in abstraction and modularization.
· Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of team standards and practices.
· Adapt quickly to changes in requirements or technology to support evolving business needs.
· Contribute to ongoing agile processes through sprint planning, retrospectives, and team feedback sessions.
· Support legacy systems as needed while contributing to continuous modernization of our tech stack.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· Proven experience as a PHP developer with deep knowledge of Laravel (minimum 3 years preferred).
· Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, and modern MVC frameworks.
· Familiarity with tools and technologies such as Vue, AlpineJS, Tailwind, and Livewire is a plus.
· Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
· Comfortable working in an agile development environment with a flexible, iterative approach.
· Experience in regulated industries (e.g., gaming, finance, healthcare) is a plus.
