Role Overview:

As an AI & Data Engineering Intern, you’ll work alongside our LLM engineers, data architects, and DevOps teams to develop, test, and deploy components of our AI/ML platform. You’ll gain hands-on experience with prompt engineering, data ingestion pipelines, and automated monitoring—while learning best practices in code quality, cloud infrastructure, and agile delivery.

Key Responsibilities

LLM Prompt Engineering:

• Prototype and refine prompts against OpenAI, Claude or Gemini APIs
• Implement automated validation tests and version control for prompt assets

Data Pipeline Development:

• Build ingestion and transformation jobs using Python, SQL, and Airflow
• Integrate streaming or batch sources (Kafka, S3, Postgres) into our data lake

Cloud & AI-Ops Support:

• Help configure CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for model deployments
• Assist in writing Terraform/CloudFormation for AWS Lambda, ECS, S3, Athena
• Implement monitoring (Prometheus/Grafana) and alerting for model endpoints

Quality & Documentation:

• Write unit and integration tests (PyTest, Jest) for data and AI components
• Contribute clear README’s, runbooks, and architecture diagrams

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Pair with senior engineers on sprint tasks, code reviews, and design sessions
• Participate in daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and bi-weekly demos

What You’ll Bring

• In Progress Toward: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field

Technical Skills:

• Core Languages: Python, SQL; JavaScript/TypeScript a plus
• ML/AI: Familiarity with large language models and API usage
• Data Engineering: Experience or coursework in ETL frameworks (Airflow, dbt)
• DevOps Basics: Git, containerization (Docker), cloud fundamentals (AWS/GCP/Azure)

Soft Skills:

• English - Upper-Intermediate/Advanced
• Eagerness to learn and experiment with new AI/Data tools
• Strong communication—able to document work and present findings
• Collaborative mindset—thrives in agile, cross-disciplinary teams

Preferred (but not required):

• Front-end basics (React, Dash) for building simple UIs
• Exposure to IaC tooling (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Prior internship or project work in AI/Data Engineering
