SENIOR FRONT END ENGINEER

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Front End Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Ukraine. Our client is a leading online training provider. You’ll join a cross-functional Agile team developing a new, AI-powered online proctoring platform for the customer.

The platform is designed to replace a legacy solution and will serve as a high-availability, scalable system for secure and compliant remote examinations. You will be key in building and maintaining a modern Single Page Application using React and creating a desktop application wrapper using Electron.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in frontend development with React.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Knowledge of WebSockets or real-time data on the front end.
• Knowledge of Electron.
• Familiarity with modern UI development patterns and accessibility standards.
• Experience in integration with RESTful APIs and working in a version-controlled environment.
• Understanding of security challenges and features in desktop applications.
• Advanced English (written and verbal) for daily communication.

• Experience in the edtech or compliance-heavy domains (e.g., proctoring, certification platforms).
  
  

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Single Page Applications using React (Hooks, Functional Components).
• Work on real-time UI components leveraging WebSockets.
• Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers to translate mockups into pixel-perfect, accessible interfaces.
• Contribute to performance optimization, security enhancements, and even desktop application support.
• Enable responsive UI design and functionality.
• Optimize frontend performance.
• Create a desktop application wrapper.
• Enhance security or lockdown mode.
• Write unit tests to maintain high code quality.
• Collaborate with other team members to deliver end-to-end features on time and according to specifications.
