We are currently on the lookout for a R&D QA Scientist to join our R&D team based in Little Island.
In this role, the successful applicant will join the PepsiCo Measurement Sciences Complex-Analytical team which supports PepsiCo bottling facilities globally as part of the company’s QA and innovation agendas. The team utilise ISO17025:2017 accredited IC-MS/MS, ICP-MS and GC-MS test methods for the analysis of finished product bottled water (available in the marketplace) and ingredient water (used in beverage manufacture), as well as beverage analysis by UPLC, to ensure that all PepsiCo beverage products meet the highest possible regulatory and quality standards. As part of this role, the successful applicant will also help to support the laboratory’s global stakeholders with data insights and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities
- Schedule and perform accurate analysis and reporting of monthly trade analytical samples, ingredient water samples and samples submitted for line qualifications, innovation and troubleshooting, in compliance with PepsiCo global procedures and standards.
- Prepare lab solutions, reagents, and controls as necessary for completing analysis and running instrumentation.
- Develop reference files, quality control charts, and graphs on laboratory data.
- Review and interprets test results.
- Provide technical support and/or analytical support to stakeholders on any poor/unusual results. Technical support may include plant support & data review etc.
- Execute and communicate data mining, insights and reporting of plant performance (monthly).
- Conduct test method investigations and validations for accreditation where required.
- Demonstrate competent use of laboratory business information and reporting systems (LIMS).
- Support testing bench for the Measurement Sciences Analytical team.
- Adhere to ISO 17025:2017 and A2LA policies for the Complex-Analytical laboratory.
- Demonstrate adherence to site Health & Safety and Good Laboratory Practice policies and procedures.
- Support the development and implementation of the Cork Measurement Sciences Laboratory strategy through active participation in relevant teams and projects.
- BSc. or MSc. in Analytical Chemistry, or equivalent
- Experience of working within a laboratory environment for a minimum of 3-5 years
- Knowledge and experience of analytical techniques and instrumentation: GC-MS, ICP-MS, IC-MS/MS, UPLC
- Experience in quality assurance activities
- Experience in quality management systems
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a cross functional and global environment (cultural awareness)
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills - ability to communicate confidently and effectively in a timely manner
- Demonstrates active listening skills
- Flexible regarding priority changes
- Excellent organization, time management, and teamwork skills

- Ability to analyse and interpret data
