Front‑end mobile developer

The Role

We are looking for an experienced front‑end mobile developer who is passionate about building high‑quality, cross‑platform mobile applications using React Native. You will work on a variety of client projects, creating intuitive user experiences while making the most of the underlying hardware (think Bluetooth Low Energy, push notifications, offline‑first data synchronisation and more).

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain robust React Native applications for iOS and Android.
• Implement advanced mobile capabilities such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connectivity, background synchronisation and offline‑first data models.
• Write clean, reusable TypeScript and create custom native modules or shared packages when off‑the‑shelf solutions fall short.
• Optimise performance, accessibility and responsiveness across a wide range of devices.
• Collaborate closely with UX designers, backend engineers and product owners to translate requirements into elegant technical solutions.
• Set up and maintain automated testing (unit, integration and end‑to‑end) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to code reviews, knowledge‑sharing sessions and continuous improvement of development practices.

Your Profile

• Proven experience: 3+ years of professional front‑end or mobile development, with at least 2 years dedicated to React Native.
• Technical expertise:
• Strong command of React Native and its ecosystem.
• Solid TypeScript skills and familiarity with modern state‑management approaches.
• Hands-on experience with Bluetooth Low Energy integrations, offline‑first patterns (e.g. WatermelonDB, SQLite) and persistent storage.
• Comfort with REST/GraphQL APIs, WebSockets and realtime data flows.
• Quality mindset:
• Practiced in automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Testing Library and Detox.
• Focus on code quality by using linting and other build tools
• Collaboration & communication: fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch or French is a plus.
• Bonus points for:
• Understanding of native Android (Kotlin/Java) and/or iOS (Swift/Objective‑C) development sufficient to create or troubleshoot custom modules.
• Publishing or maintaining open‑source React Native libraries.
• Continuous deployment to Google Play / Apple App Store and release management.
• Familiarity with other cross‑platform (e.g. Flutter) or web front‑end frameworks (Ember, React, Next.js).
