Description

This Manager, Product Development & Open Innovation position will help the team innovate and develop world-class perfumes in the Fragrance category. It will assist in concept creation, development, and fragrance composition. This role will assist in providing creativity through cross functional co-creation with global teams including R&D, Marketing, Packaging, and Global Brand Supply Chain teams to innovate programs enabling the design of brand-inspired consumer-orientated luxury fragrances.

As part of the ground-breaking Atelier team and fragrance Product Development organization, this role will be in service of the global brands, contributing to end-to-end fragrance support, boosting product innovation, driving go-to-market speed & agility, and enhance artisanal quality of ELC products. This individual will bring new fragrance capabilities to the enterprise as we grow and develop in this category.

Principal Accountabilities

• Support the creative process to develop outstanding new fragrances and help drive innovation for the Estee Lauder Brands.
• Work closely with brands, in particular, product marketing to understand - and help guide – the creation of olfactive strategies that build and support the innovation pipeline and calendars for key new launches.
• Project manage key innovation initiatives, within a cross functional team, and ensure delivery on time and on quality.
• Build strong working relationships with key cross functions throughout the organization. Contribute to enhancing the Paris ecosystem between perfumers, NOSEs and innovation experts
• Partner with the growth intelligence team to identify novel category insights
• Assist R&D in bringing disruptive technology to life for Brand PD and Marketing teams
• Assist in upstream fragrance development with the fragrance houses
• Responsible for Open Innovation, and collaborations with local innovation ecosystem (universities, startups, innovators)
• Identify, and Establish regional/governmental collaboration programs
  
  

Qualifications

• College Degree with 5+ years (or Master degree with 3+ years) of experience required
• Fragrance development experience working in fragrance development, innovation and/or B2C consumer startup
• Knowledge of latest software and technologies for project management, and innovation management, including the use of AI.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, written & oral
• Seasoned collaborator who regularly displays and role models leadership behaviors
• Creative problem solving and troubleshooting mindset
• Strategic thinker who understands the beauty and fragrance industry
