Network Security Engineer – Firewall Engineering
10 Month+ Contract
Hybrid - on site/remote
€300-400 per day
Sentinel is working with a major, global financial services organisation, seeking a Network Security Specialist for their Firewall Engineering team. The primary responsibilities will involve firewall request planning, implementation, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
• Plan, document, and implement firewall openings
• Communicate with internal and external clients on firewall-related matters
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex firewall-related incidents
• Collaborate with other teams on firewall requests, incidents, and upgrades
• Participate in CAB meetings and represent firewall tickets
• Perform firewall OS upgrades, including pre- and post-checks
Experience
• Strong understanding of OSI Layers and network security technologies
• Expertise in firewall products, especially Palo Alto (required), as well as Fortigate,
Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, and their respective management platforms
• Solid understanding of VPN concepts (Site-to-Site IPSec VPN, SSL Remote
VPN)
• Experience with IT Operation tools such as ITSM and Jira
• Understanding of ITIL, Change, Incident, and Problem Management processes
• Adherence to defined processes for completing firewall requests within SLAs
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills
