Trading Engineer | Build the Backbone of Real-Time Crypto Markets

This isn’t a typical software engineering role. You won’t be maintaining legacy code or working on throwaway features. Here, every line you write helps stabilise global crypto markets in real time.

We’re partnered with a proprietary trading firm that provides liquidity to major exchanges using in-house technology and close collaboration between traders and engineers. Your role is to improve that tech and expand what it can do.

The team operates independently within a wider crypto group, based just outside Amsterdam. It’s a focused, hands-on environment where ideas move quickly and engineers are trusted to deliver meaningful impact.

What you'll do:

• Build and maintain the backend of the trading platform using Node.js and TypeScript
• Implement new trading strategies directly into production systems
• Integrate third-party APIs and ensure seamless data flow
• Work alongside traders to support live operations and resolve issues
• Contribute ideas and lead technical improvements from concept to deployment

What you'll bring:

• A minimum of two years in backend engineering or a similar trading tech role
• Solid experience with Node.js and building scalable, event-driven systems
• Comfortable working with MySQL, Redis and Docker
• Familiarity with Python is a bonus, not a must
• A background in maths, physics, AI or econometrics is helpful but not essential
