VP of Enterprise Architecture

A leading diversified conglomerate is building out a new enterprise architecture function and is looking for a visionary leader to head this capability. This is a greenfield opportunity to define and scale an EA practice from the ground up-starting with a small team of domain-specific Architects-with a clear focus on leveraging AI, data, and technology innovation to drive business transformation across a group of consumer-focused companies.

About the role:
This role will be central to shaping and executing the enterprise architecture strategy, with a specific mandate to harness artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to unlock new business value. You'll align IT systems and architecture with commercial goals, with a sharp focus on improving consumer experience, operational agility, and data-driven decision-making.

Key responsibilities:

• Define and lead a modern EA strategy that embeds AI, data, and automation at its core.
• Build and mentor a team of domain architects, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Establish and enforce architecture standards and governance frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
• Design scalable, future-ready technology solutions that support business objectives across the group.
• Identify and drive adoption of emerging technologies that enhance consumer engagement and operational efficiency.
• Translate business and consumer strategies into IT roadmaps and digital transformation initiatives.
• Modernise legacy systems and integrate digital platforms to support business agility.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure EA delivers measurable commercial impact.

About you:

• Proven experience in driving AI and data-led enterprise architecture initiatives.
• Strong grasp of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, APIs, and modern data architectures.
• Deep understanding of how to apply technology innovation in direct-to-consumer businesses (e.g., Retail, FMCG, Manufacturing, Pharma).
• Familiarity with enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, HCM) and how to optimise them for customer-centric outcomes.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to influence at C-level and drive change across multiple business units.
• Skilled at balancing long-term architectural vision with immediate business needs and execution.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
