The Data Scientist’s role will revolve around solving complex business problems. This role will have a chance work through elasticity modeling, price optimization, time series analysis, What-if/Scenario planning, and more. You will use Staples many rich data sources to provide data-driven insights in these areas, which will help inform our leaders and directly impact the business.

You will be part of Pricing’s first ever internal data science group and using best-in-class tools like Alteryx/Tableau/Python & R. Your day-to-day work will literally add dollars to Staples’ bottom line. If you get a kick out of playing with data, think no more and submit your resume today!

What you bring to the table:

• Proactive and passionate about data integrity.
• Organized, detailed, and works well in a dynamic environment – adaptable and can redirect workstreams as needed.
• Ability to summarize technical details to a non-technical audience. At ease presenting their work to peers and especially to leadership.
• Supports ongoing and ad-hoc analytical projects based on Staples strategic priorities.
• Proficient in Alteryx OR SQL (i.e. SQL, Snowflake, Teradata, Oracle), exposure to Snowflake a plus.
  
  

Qualifications:

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree (concentration in analytical/business area such as Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, Economics) OR equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a data analytics/data science/business intelligence role.
• 2 years of experience with Tableau
• 2 years of experience with Alteryx/SQL
  
  

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree preferred.
• and Python are a huge plus
