Primary Purpose Of The Job
Educational Qualifications
- Lead stakeholder engagement and build strong relationships with QET stakeholders to understand requirements, design, and implement effective technology solutions. Foster collaboration across ICT and commercial functions, bringing together diverse parties.
- Lead the business analysts to facilitate solution evaluation and decision-making. Provide expert technical support, manage solution implementation, and ensure compliance with ICT requirements.
- Oversee product backlogs and prioritization with the business, manage resource allocation and coordinate with technical teams for seamless delivery of the required changes.
- Coordinate procurement and contract arrangements, manage vendor performance, and control resources and budget. Lead negotiations and ensure successful contract execution.
- Maintain a structured portfolio and roadmap of the Trading solutions and develop capacity management strategies and plans by forecasting long-term demands and short-term variations to ensure the availability, capability, functionality, and optimization of IT services related to Trading systems and applications.
- Lead business analysis activities to deliver all Trading IT projects as per their charter-defined responsibilities to implement new or transform existing QET solutions with a delineated scope of work to be executed within a finite time frame.
- Keep abreast of current technology trends through research and on-going interaction with local, regional, and international software providers and other Oil and Gas Companies, to ensure that the application software used remain current and in line with international trends.
- Mentor team members and promote continuous learning and innovation.
- Act as the on the Job Trainer for Qatari Associates, mentors those with less experience and ensure knowledge transfer for proper career planning for National and non-National staff and to enhance the team’s capability.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive and directly related work experience in Commodities trading with leading IOCs, trading houses, NOCs, or vendors in change, process, and technology.
- Minimum 6 years of C/ETRM experience in designing and implementing solutions to enhance trading strategies, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency. Hands-on experience with C/ETRM systems such as Openlink Endur, TriplePoint, Allegro is required. Product knowledge of Planlogic EOS, Veson Nautical IMOS and SAP is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of commodity markets (LNG is preferred), trading strategies, related organization, processes, risk management principles and related technologies solutions (C/ETRM, Fleet Management, Trading Platform, Market Analytics, etc).
- Specialized experience in Physical LNG Trading, Cargo Operations, Shipping, Derivative Trading, Trading Risk and Finance, or Portfolio Optimization, with advanced knowledge of the front-to-back office trade lifecycle.
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills. Ability to work with the unknown, own problems and make decisions.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements, manage backlog and relevant documentations with development team.
- Track records of delivering large transformational projects as a lead business analyst.
- Familiar with IT standards & best practices, architecture, integration, methods.
- Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, and ability to communicate concepts as appropriate to management, stakeholders and vendors.
- High proficiency with workplace applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), project management and collaboration tools (e.g. MS Project, Azure DevOps / Confluence Jira, Miro/Mural etc). Proficient in working with SQL queries and Excel.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in technology or finance subject from an internationally recognized university.
