Java Software Engineer

For our client, a leading online platform for booking travel experiences and activities globally, renowned for its commitment to innovation and exceptional customer satisfaction, we are seeking a Mid & Senior Java Developer to join our team working remotely from Poland.

As a member of the team, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge web applications using Java on the backend and React on the frontend. You will collaborate closely with product owners, designers, and fellow developers to deliver scalable and efficient software solutions that enhance user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and Development: Build and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance applications using Java for the backend and React for the frontend.
• Architecture and Code Quality: Design and implement clean, maintainable, and modular code adhering to industry best practices and design patterns.
• API Development: Develop RESTful APIs to support frontend functionality and integrate with external systems and services.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA engineers, to understand requirements, provide technical insights, and deliver high-quality software.
• Testing and Debugging: Write unit and integration tests to ensure the stability and reliability of the codebase; identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and bugs.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement of the codebase, including regular refactoring, documentation, and peer code reviews.
• Deployment and Maintenance: Participate in the deployment process, monitoring and maintaining applications post-release to ensure high availability and performance.

Skills and Qualifications

• Legal right to work and live in Poland
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience as a Full-Stack Engineer, Software Developer, or in a similar role.
• Proficient in Java with hands-on experience in frameworks like Spring Boot or similar for backend development.
• Experience with React and front-end development including modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Experience with Git version control and collaborative development workflows.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar) and DevOps practices is a plus.
• Problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering high-quality code.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Familiarity with additional front-end libraries and frameworks, such as Redux or TypeScript.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile development teams.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools like JUnit, Selenium, Jest, etc.
