Objectives: The Security Operations Centre (SOC) Lead’s main role is to plan, direct and control the Security Operations Center (SOC) functions and operations. Ensure the monitoring and analysis of incidents to protect people, information assets, technology and process addressing all security incidents and ensuring timely escalation.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Incident Response Management

• Provide management oversight for the identification, triage and response of events or incidents of apparent security breaches to maintain the security posture.
• Act as a lead throughout incident scenarios and provide subject matter expertise in cybersecurity incident response to facilitate the investigation, escalation required and root cause analysis to secure the overall security and mitigate potential risks.
• Conduct Security event analysis reporting on activities through regular scheduled reporting and communications in order to highlight the main incidents and events.
• Manage communication with other departments to facilitate investigation process.
• Produce and review aggregated performance metrics
• Develop and update SLA between SOC and other departments when required and maintain SLA.
• Recommend security solutions based on security postures and gaps identified.

Required:

Certification:

• CISSP or CISM or relevant certification is mandatory.
• GCIH, GCFA or relevant certification is mandatory.

Recommended Training:

• GIAC: Continuous Monitoring Course (GMON)
• GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA)
• GIAC Certified Perimeter Protection Analyst (GPPA).
• GIAC Security Leadership (GSLC)
• Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED)
• Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
• CISSP

Experience Requirement:

• Minimum 8 - 10 years of experience in Cyber Security and minimum 2 years in previous leadership roles
