As an Engineering Lead for Retail Experiences, you will be responsible for driving the development of our Qantas Marketplace and Wine platforms, ensuring they are high-performing, reliable, and meet the needs of our customers. Mentoring and guiding a team of skilled full stack developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

The Engineering Lead will use deep understanding of AWS, React, NodeJS and other relevant web and cloud technologies to architect and implement scalable and secure solutions. They will oversee the software development lifecycle, from discovery and planning to development, deployment and maintenance, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.

The role works closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver features that align with business goals.

You’ll Have

• 10 years of experience in systems development and implementation.
• Experience in Technical Leadership, and demonstrable ability to motivate self and others with a passion to mentor.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical requirements effectively to the business and across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience or interest in building and extending tooling and processes to improve developer productivity, delivery and consistency.
• Strong demonstrated technical experience in web and cloud technologies.
• Ability to identify and resolve complex technical challenges, ensuring the stability and reliability of our applications.
• Strong proficiency to forge and reinforce strong software engineering principles and best practices.
• Proven experience in developing, deploying, debugging, and testing.
• Confidence in applying patterns, techniques and approaches that ensure high-quality, highly flexible software.
• The ability to balance technical and communication skills and adjust to your audience.
• Attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
• An approachable attitude to educate, mentor and influence the team.
