Roles & Responsibilities of Dispatch FTE
Break-Fix and Maintenance
- Provide on-site support for JJSI global network hardware.
- Replace and repair faulty network equipment (e.g., patch cables, line interface units).
- Perform Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) tasks including un-racking, installing new hardware, and shipping returns.
MACD (Moves, Adds, Changes, Deletes) Activities
- Add/remove CSU/DSU modules.
- Add/remove out-of-band access devices and modems.
- Install or remove routers, switches, firewalls (chassis-based or non-chassis based).
- Wipe device configurations and prepare for redeployment.
- Hardware/software upgrades to align with JJTS standards.
Hardware and Cabling Tasks
- Handle Ethernet and fiber cables; follow TIA-568 standards.
- Use fiber testing equipment and maintain cabling documentation.
- Repatch copper and fiber cables, label patch cords, and ensure proper cable management.
Supported Hardware Types
- Access, Core, Server Farm, and Distribution Switches.
- Routers, Firewalls, and associated modules and cards.
Tools and Technologies Required
- Tools: Screwdriver, Laptop, Console Cable, Mobile Hotspot.
- Software: SecureCRT, PuTTY, WebEx, Skype, Microsoft Teams.
- Knowledge of AWS and remote collaboration tools.
- Console access and basic command-line troubleshooting.
Networking Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, WLAN, and Contact Center devices.
- Coordinate with remote teams for issue resolution and project support.
- Follow asset management and shipping procedures.
