Network Security Engineer - German Speaker

We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Network Security IT Engineer (German Speaker) to join their growing security operations team. This is a permanent position offering the chance to work on critical IT security projects in a high-performance environment fully based in Luxembourg.

Your Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable network security infrastructures (firewalls, VPN, NAC, IDS/IPS, network segmentation).
  • Manage, configure, and optimize network security appliances from vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, and Juniper.
  • Administer network protocols including IPSec, SSL-VPN, BGP, OSPF, NAT, VLANs, and 802.1X.
  • Perform proactive security monitoring and incident response using modern SIEM/SOAR platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ELK Stack).
  • Participate in vulnerability assessments, network hardening, and security compliance audits (ISO 27001, NIST, BSI IT-Grundschutz).
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Infrastructure, and Cloud teams to ensure robust end-to-end network security controls.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and security playbooks.
  • Serve as an escalation point for network and security-related incidents.
Your Profile
  • Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a network security engineering role.
  • Deep technical knowledge of:
  • Familiar with Cloud network security (AWS, Azure, SASE, hybrid firewalling).
  • Strong troubleshooting and packet analysis skills (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump).
  • Awareness of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls.
Preferred Certifications
  • Cisco: CCNP Security, CCIE Security
  • Fortinet: NSE 4/7/8
  • Palo Alto: PCNSA/PCNSE
  • General: CISSP, CEH, Security+, OSCP
Key Skills & Attributes
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in distributed teams
  • Fluent German (C1+) and solid English communication (B2+)
  • High level of accountability, security awareness, and attention to detail
